Miller County man arrested near California after a traffic stop leads to drug seizure

CALIFNORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Moniteau County sheriff deputy arrested an Olean man after a traffic stop leads to the seizure of drugs, drug paraphernalia and handguns on Friday.

According to officials, deputies received a report of a reckless driver traveling on Hwy 87 towards California, Mo. deputies then located the vehicle and pulled it over.

A Moniteau County Sheriff's press release say the driver is Wesley Staack.

According to the release, Staack was sweating and appeared to be very nervous. Deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and obtained consent to search.

After searching the vehicle, deputies reported finding a substantial amount of marijuana packaged for distribution, scales, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, cocaine, THC wax and two loaded handguns.

Staack is charged with delivery of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Staack has a $75,000 cash or surety bond.
