No foul play suspected in Miller County death

TUSCUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Miller County authorities have identified the man whose body was found floating in a pond a week ago and said foul play is not suspected in this death.

The Miller County Sheriff's Office said Friday that Dallas Murphy, 58, of St. Charles, Missouri was the man found April 10 on Polar Road near Highway 52. Murphy had last been seen in the area in January, when he left a residence along Poplar Road saying he was returning to St. Charles.

Murphy was in Miller County after his release from a hospital and had ties to the area, the sheriff's office said.

Investigators found his vehicle in the same pond where his body was found, the sheriff's office said. An autopsy revealed no signs of foul play, the office said.

Authorities believe Murphy had a medical emergency while driving, drove into the pond and was unable to get out. His family has been notified.
