No injuries reported in Mexico garage fire

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

No injuries were reported in a Sunday garage fire in the 700 block of Holt Street in Mexico, according to a Monday press release from the Mexico Public Safety Department.

Crews responded a house fire call at 10:49 a.m. Sunday. The garage had significant fire, heat and smoke damage, according to the release. The house had minimal damage.

The fire appeared to have started in an area where clothing was covering a thin electric cord used to power a light, the release stated.
