St. James man charged with second-degree murder after fentanyl overdose

ST. JAMES, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Saint James man is now charged with second-degree murder in connection to a fentanyl overdose that happened in Maries County.

Tanner Orr, 26, is also charged with delivery of a controlled substance.

Kenneth Ahart Junior was found dead in his home in Saint James on Oct. 12 from an overdose.

During an investigation into Ahart's death, police identified Orr as the fentanyl source according to court documents.

When questioned by police Orr confirmed social media messages sent between him and Ahart regarding the drug deal.

Investigators say Orr sold Ahart a lethal amount of the drug.
