Man charged in Camden County with 10 counts of child porn possession
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Richland, Missouri, man was charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography and a count of drug possession.
John Edward Clark, 61, is being held without bond at the Camden County Jail. An initial arraignment was held on Friday, according to court records. A hearing is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Camden County Courthouse.
According to the probable cause statement, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that indicated someone uploaded 245 images of child pornography from a Google account that belonged to Clark.
Law enforcement reviewed several images uploaded to the account dating back to 2020 that appeared to be child pornography, the statement says. Google provided law enforcement with a zip file from the account that also contained child pornography, the statement says.
The Camden County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Thursday at Clark’s residence and Clark was arrested near a powered-on phone that was showing pornography, the statement says. Deputies also found a “glass smoking device” with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine, the statement says.
Clark allegedly admitted to downloading and viewing child pornography on his cellphone, but claimed he hadn’t viewed that content in six months and deleted it from his phone, the statement says.
