True/False Film Fest kicks off in Columbia; March March parade to go down Ninth Street on Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The True/False Film Fest kicked off Thursday in Columbia.

The annual festival takes place in downtown Columbia Thursday through Sunday. Thirty-one feature films and 25 short films were picked out of about 1,400 submissions, according to a previous press release from the festival.

A spokesperson for the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau said earlier this week that 10,000-15,000 usually attend the fest. Film screenings and music performances will take place throughout downtown.

On Friday, the annual March March will stroll through downtown Columbia. According to information from True/False’s website, the parade starts at 4:45 p.m. Friday the Boone County Courthouse Square and will head south on Ninth Street. The end of the parade will be in front of the Missouri Theatre, according to the website.

The parade is free and open to the public.
