Versailles man killed in motorcycle crash in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Versailles man is dead following a single motorcycle crash Friday night in Morgan County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Crash Report, Jacob A. Martinez, 33, was traveling southbound on Highway W around 11:30 p.m. Friday just outside of Versailles when he failed to clear a turn.

Troopers say, Martinez, crossed the center of the road and started to skid. Martinez then overturned his motorcycle, traveled off the left side of the road, and hit a sign.

Martinez was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead a the scene, according to the report.

Martinez was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to Troopers.

Troop F says, this is their 6th fatality for March and 11th for the year.
