Tractor Supply Company receives FTC clearance to close Orscheln Farm and Home acquisition

The largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, announced it received clearance from the Federal Trade Commission to close on its acquisition of Orscheln Farm and Home.

Tractor Supply Company will acquire a net 81 stores and divest the remaining 85 stores to two buyers approved by the FTC: Bomgaars Supply, Inc. (73 stores) and Buchheit Enterprises, Inc. (12 stores), shortly after closing the transaction.

In addition, Tractor Supply has agreed to sell the Orscheln Farm and Home corporate headquarters and distribution center in Moberly to Bomgaars for approximately $10 million within 15 months after the closing of the transaction.

Bomgaars is in talks to retain much of the staff in Moberly, but will not be moving its headquarters to Moberly. Bomgaars plans to continue to use the distribution center.

“We also see the headquarter and distribution center acquisition by Bomgaar’s as a strong sign of the ongoing work and preservation of employment that will be required to service the 16 new Bomgaar stores through the Moberly distribution hub," the company said in a statement
