COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police have confirmed that a juvenile male has been shot in central Columbia Saturday evening.

Columbia Police was dispatched to the area of the 900 block of 8th Street in reference to a report of a subject who had been shot.

Police say the juvenile that was shot has non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital by EMS.

No suspect information is available at this time.

  1. This shooting happened just down the street from Columbia College. From the police scanner:

    Dispatcher: Two alert tones: “Boone County…Shots fired with victim 9XX North Eighth Street. …We have one victim shot in the leg. He was in the roadway.”

    EMS Computer Dispatcher: “Medic 151, EMS response, unstable scene…

    EMS Dispatcher: ”You are responding for an unstable scene. There is going to be a gunshot victim, black male, aged 20 to 30…stage on arrival.” A fire truck was dispatched also.

    A 911 caller reported that it was a drive by shooting. At least it wasn’t downtown.
