Lake Ozark Fire Protection District announces new chief

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District announced in a Friday press release that Marcus Carr will be its new chief.

Carr was being promoted from deputy chief-EMS. He began his new position on Tuesday, the release stated. He replaces Interim Fire Chief David Matusik, who has been in the position since August.

As deputy chief, Carr was responsible for oversight of protocol development, revisions and implementation, the release stated.

Prior to working for Lake Ozark Fire, Carr was EMS Chief for Boone Health EMS in Columbia, the release stated. In addition, Carr has worked as a firefighter, flight paramedic and ambulance district administrator. This May marks his 28th year working in public safety in Missouri, according to the release.
