Lake of the Ozarks resort development seeks tax financing
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A planned family resort and entertainment district in Osage Beach is seeking a tax deal to help pay for the development.
Meetings will be held March 27 and April 17 at Osage Beach City Hall over plans for tax-increment financing for the Oasis at Lakeport, according to a city news release. Tax-increment financing, often called TIF for short, uses increases in property tax from a development to help pay for that development.
The planned $300 million resort is set to open in the summer of 2024, according to a news release posted on the resort website. It's planned for Highway 54 near the Grand Glaize bridge.
The Osage Beach Board of Aldermen approved a resolution Thursday to recommend the tax financing proposal for further scrutiny.
The project is being undertaken by St. Louis-based SkyView Partners and Tegethoff development.
Developers promise the Oasis will generate 500 jobs when operational.
