Jefferson City school bus involved in crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A school bus with middle and high school students from the Jefferson City School District was involved in a crash on Thursday morning.

School district spokeswoman Ryan Burns told ABC 17 News that a car rear-ended the bus on the way to school on Route T near Henwick Lane in St. Martins. Burns said EMS responded to the scene to assess those on board.

A traffic alert from the county went out at 8:19 a.m. to avoid the area.

Cole County EMS chief Eric Hoy said he would release more information later Thursday morning.
