Several candidates file for Jefferson City Council elections

JEFFESRON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Several people on Tuesday morning filed to run for seats on the Jefferson City Council in the April 8 election.
Tuesday was the first day candidates could file for elections statewide in non-charter cities. Tuesday, Dec. 31 is the last day to file for the April 8 election.
According to a file that was emailed by City Clerk Emily Donaldson, the following people filed on Tuesday:
- Ward 1: Incumbent Jeff Ahlers
- Ward 2: Incumbent Aaron Mealy
- Ward 3: Derek Thomas
- Ward 4: Julie Allen
- Ward 5: Shane Kempeter
Municipal Judge Scott Evans filed for reelection, as did City Prosecutor Gaylin Carver.
Jefferson City Board of Education
Additionally, in the Jefferson City Board of Education races, Board Vice President Erika Leonard and Board member Anne Bloemke-Warren filed for reelection, according to the school district.
Elections in Camdenton
Three incumbents have filed for city seats in Camdenton, according to an email from Assistant City Clerk Renée Kingston.
Ward 1 Alderman Eric Faes, Ward 2 Alderwoman Brenda Weir, Ward 3 Alderman Mark Anderson and Mayor John McNabb all filed for reelection, an updated email on Thursday says.. Non one has filed in the Special Road District race.
