Mexico man hurt after motorcycle crash in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man was hurt after a crash on Highway 54 at the Madison Street Overpass in Jefferson City on Sunday night.

According to the Jefferson City Police Department, Michael Robbins, 53 of Mexico, was driving eastbound on Highway 54 when he lost control entering the curve.

Police said Robbins was thrown from the 2023 Harley Davidson after it hit the guardrail on the driving lane side.

Robbins was reported to be wearing a helmet and suffered from serious injuries, according to the police news release. He was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

Robbins was reported to be in serious condition according to MU Health Care as of Monday morning.

Traffic was shut down on the highway for around 90 minutes.
