JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District will not have class on Friday.

Inclement weather is expected to come through Mid-Missouri on Friday morning and the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team has issued a Weather Alert Day for Friday.

“ JC Schools will be CLOSED FRI 2/16 due to the potential for sleet & snow resulting in unsafe morning & afternoon travel conditions,” according to an email sent from district spokesman Ryan Burns.

The email states the school will reopen Tuesday, after the Presidents' Day holiday.

The Southern Boone School District announced earlier on Thursday that it would be having a virtual learning day because of the possibility of travel conditions.
