A data breach of Navvis and Company LLC from over the summer affected “a limited number of SSM Health patients,” according to an email from an SSM Health spokesperson.

The spokesperson did not state how many SSM Health patients were affected. The email also states that it was not a direct breach of SSM Health. Some patients of Navvis’ other clients were also affected, according to the email from SSM Health spokesperson Janet Wear-Enloe. SSM Health has a number of locations in Missouri, including St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

According to a press release from Navvis’ website, it became aware of suspicious activity on July 25 and determined a cyber attack occurred between July 12-25. The release states that hackers had access to systems that stored personal and health information.

According to the release, the types of information impacted includes: Patients’ name, date of birth, Medicaid/Medicare ID number, health plan information, medical treatment information, medical record number, patient account number, case identification number, provider and doctor information, health record information and Social Security number.

Navvis suggested in the release for patients to check to review account statements and monitor credit reports for identity theft.
