Living Windows, Christmas parade to cause street closures in Downtown Jefferson City
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Jefferson City’s annual Living Windows event and Christmas parade will occur on Friday and Saturday, respectively, which will require parking restrictions and street closures, according to a Thursday press release from the Jefferson City Police Department.
The Living Windows event will be 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, the release states. Parking will not be allowed on High Street between Monroe and Jefferson streets. The roadway will be blocked at 5 p.m. Friday. High Street will fully reopen after the event. Vehicles parked in the area need to be moved by 4 p.m.
The annual Christmas parade will start at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the release states. The parade route begins heading east on High Street from Missouri Boulevard to Lafayette Street. The parade will then travel north on Lafayette Street to Capitol Avenue, according to the release. The parade will then head west on East Capitol and end at the Truman Building parking lots.
Parking will not be allowed on High Street from Monroe Street to Broadway Street, the release states. All vehicles in the restricted area need to be removed by 3 p.m.
