Jefferson City Medical Group, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield reach contract agreement

MGN

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City Medical Group Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield reached a contract  agreement late Tuesday, according to a press release from JCMG.

With this signed contract, JCMG will remain in-network for its approximately 30,000 patients with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans. The Missouri State Medical Association stated in an earlier Tuesday release that if a deal was not reached, patients would have had to pay out-of-network costs and possibly travel 30-60 miles to be in-network for some treatments.

“JCMG’s improved contract with Anthem has helped ensure JCMG’s sustainability as an independent healthcare provider for our patients and community,” Dr. Jeffrey Patrick, JCMG President, said in the Tuesday night release.
