Jefferson City police name woman killed in Sunday crash in report
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Jefferson City Police Department has named the woman who died in a crash that occurred Sunday in Downtown Jefferson City.
According to a JCPD crash report released on Monday, Julie A. Agee was killed in the crash. She was 74.
First responders were called to the 200 block of Madison Street shortly after noon on Sunday about a crash involving a pedestrian, according to the report.
Emergency personnel saw Agee trapped underneath a bronze-colored 2014 Honda CRV stopped southbound on Madison Street, the report states. The Jefferson City Fire Department personnel raised the Honda, and Agee was brought to an area hospital by ambulance.
The reports stated the driver of the Honda was Kathryn A. Brown, 71, of Holts Summit. She was not injured and the Honda had minor damage, the report states.
According to previous reporting, an employee at a nearby business said police had the area blocked off around the time of the crash.
Police said in the crash report that Brown made a left turn from westbound East Capitol Ave onto southbound Madison Street. As the Honda was heading southbound, the Agee entered the roadway from between two parked vehicles on the west side of the street and was hit by the Honda.
JCPD says the investigation is ongoing.
