JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A car crash in Jefferson City injured two people and shut down the southbound lane of Highway 54 for 30 minutes Thursday morning.

The Jefferson City Police Department responded to the crash a little after 7 a.m. on Highway 54 near the Highway 63 off-ramp.

Wyatt McEuen, 22, of Centralia, and 47-year-old Daniel Jordan of Holts Summit both suffered minor injuries.

According to the crash report, McEuen was exiting Highway 63 onto southbound Highway 54 in a 2008 Ford Taurus when he failed to navigate a curve, lost control and skidded into the southbound lanes of 54, hitting the Subaru Outback driven by Jordan.

McEuen's car then continued to skid, ran off the left side of the road and hit a median cable, the report says.

Both McEuen and Jordan were treated and released at the scene. Both vehicles were towed due to their damage.

The JCPD Traffic Unit investigated the scene. Two other crashes happened because of heavy traffic while investigators had the road closed, according to the report.
