$300,000 of estimated damage from fire at Jefferson City Red Lobster
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
According to a fire report, there was an estimated $300,000 worth of damage to the Red Lobster in Jefferson City on Tuesday morning in the 3500 block of Country Club Drive, between the property and its contents.
According to a Tuesday email from the Jefferson City Fire Department, fire personnel saw smoke coming from the back of the restaurant before 10 a.m. Firefighters found a fire in a utility room that spread to the attic of the building. Damage was contained to both of those areas, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Smoke damage was seen throughout the building, according to the email.
The fire was ruled accidental and the business will be closed until repairs are done, the email states. JCFD did not detail any injuries.
According to the fire report, there were smoke detectors in the building. However, they did not work for an undetermined reason. The building had a foam, automated fire extinguishing system, but the report states it did not activate because the fire was too small.
