Two pets killed in early morning house fire in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

No injuries were reported in a early Monday morning house fire in Jefferson City but two pets did die, according to the Jefferson City Fire Department.

Crews responded to the fire on the 1100 Block of West Miller Street just after 1:30 a.m.

When crews arrived on scene they found heavy fire in the single family home.

According to a news release, the fire was extinguished but there is heavy fire damage throughout the home.

The fire left two adults displaced and they are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Jefferson City Fire Department and Missouri State Fire Marshall's Office.
