Inmate death reported at Jefferson City Correctional Center

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An inmate at the Jefferson City Correctional Center was found dead at 8:03 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Robert Duda was found dead. He was 75 years old. The release states he died of natural causes.

The release states he was serving a 22-year sentence for second-degree murder and armed criminal action from Lawrence County. He pleaded guilty to both charges on Sept. 14, 2009, according to Casenet.

Duda had been in the DOC since Sept. 17, 2009.
