Jefferson City Fire extinguishes apartment fire Sunday evening

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City Fire Department continues to work a building fire Sunday evening to put out any remaining hot spots.

The fire started around 5:30 p.m. Sunday at a multi-family apartment building in the 500 block of Ellis Boulevard, according to a news release.

Firefighters made sure all the occupants were out of the building before attacking the flames. The fire was in the attic and burnt through the roof.

Jefferson City Fire extinguished the fire, but remained on scene to work any hotspots.

The fire department has not released any information on the cause of the fire or the amount of damage. No injuries are reported.
