JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City Police Department is investigating several people being “hit with projectiles” Tuesday afternoon near the Harry S Truman Building.

Officers are not sure yet what the projectiles were, but did not believe they were pellets or paintballs because of the lack of distinctive marks left behind, JCPD Lt. David Williams told ABC 17 News.

William estimated that more than five, but fewer than 10 people were hit. No suspect information has been shared. Officers are following several leads from victims, according to Williams.
