Five people arrested after weapons offense in Jefferson City Sunday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City Police arrested five people after a weapons offense involving two handguns Sunday afternoon.

At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jefferson City Police responded to a scene in the 2800 block of Sue Drive. Police did not go into detail about the offense that lead to the investigation.

A victim provided information to police that led to officers finding a suspect's car parked at the WalMart on 724 West Stadium. Inside the car, police found items matching the victim's story.

Five people were arrested after police set up a perimeter at the WalMart. Police recovered two handguns from the men arrested.
