JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Hitachi Energy spokesman and Jefferson City police say an investigation determined a bomb threat Wednesday was not credible.

Workers at the Jefferson City plant found writing on a bathroom wall that "hinted at a possible bomb threat in the plant," spokesman Kurt Steinert said. The company contacted police and officers found no explosives and the threat was considered small, he said.

Lt. David Williams with the Jefferson City Police Department said the threat was "unfounded."

The 600,000-square-foot plant on Highway 94 employs about 950 people, according to the company.
