JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was flown to a Columbia hospital Wednesday morning after crashing his SUV.

Todd Cardone, 54, was driving on Highway 179 when his Jeep Cherokee went off the road, hit a ditch, rolled multiple times and hit an empty car in a private drive, according to the Jefferson City Police Department. The Jeep ended up on its roof on the driveway.

Cardone suffered serious injuries, police said. He was not wearing a seat belt.
