Man hit by SUV while trimming grass in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Linn man suffered serious injuries when an SUV hit him while he was trimming grass in Jefferson City on Thursday.

William Kaullen, 49, was hurt when a Honda Pilot driven by a Jefferson City teenager went off the road and hit him while he was using a weed eater Thursday morning in the 1600 block of Southwest Boulevard, police said.

Kaullen hit the hood of the vehicle and fell to the ground, injuring his head, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release. He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital.

The teenager was not injured, police said.

The collision led to traffic restrictions for about two hours, police said.
