One woman dies in motorcycle crash in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One 24-year-old woman died in a motorcycle crash on westbound U.S. 54 in Jefferson City Friday night.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F responded to a crash between two motorcycles and a car around 11:15 Friday night. One motorcyclist has minor injuries, but 24-year-old Chantelle Gianino was pronounced dead on scene. Both bikes were totaled and the car sustained extensive damage.

According to the crash report, the crash happened when the car switched lanes and skidded into the motorcycles. The driver of the car is a minor, so personal details are not available.

The driver of the second motorcycle, 24-year-old Zion Grimes, was not taken to the hospital for his injuries.

This is the first dearth Troop F responded to in August, but the 44th death for the year.
