Overnight lane closure planned for Highway 50 near Moreau River in Cole County

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An overnight lane closure on Highway 50 east of Jefferson City is scheduled to start Friday night.

MoDOT plans to close an eastbound lane near the Moreau River bridge through Monday morning. Crews also plan to lower the speed limit through the work zone.

MoDOT warns drivers to expect delays when traveling through the area.

The overnight lane closures are part of a project to repair the eastbound and westbound Highway 50 bridges over the Osage River and the eastbound Highway 50 bridge over the Moreau River.

Another overnight lane closure on eastbound Highway 50 near the Moreau River is planned for Friday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 7.

MoDOT expects the bridge repairs to cost more than $1.1 million. Crews plan to finish the project by December.
