JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Show-Me State Air Show for 2022 has been canceled after the non-profit was unable to reach its fundraising goals.

The show organizers had a goal of $150,000 but were unable to reach it by the deadline even after a short extension.

Organizers said they were able to raise only half of its budget.

The show was scheduled for the weekend of August 27 & 28 at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport. The date for 2023 will be announced in the winter.

The organization will still include the Missouri Veterans of Foreign Wars Officer Fund as the recipient of next year’s portion of the net proceeds.

Organizers have already started their sponsorship drive for next year. After the cancelation announcement, many of the people that pledged funds commented that they will sponsor next year’s as well.
