JC Schools on track to hire new superintendent next month

KMIZ

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District hopes to hire a new superintendent next month.

The district is searching for a new leader after Larry Linthacum said last month that he will retire from education and take a position with Special Olympics Missouri. He has been superintendent since 2015.

District spokeswoman Ryan Burns said the district will post the position Friday and it will remain posted until Feb. 25. The school board will interview applicants between Feb. 28 and March 9 with the goal of a March 14 hire date. The new superintendent is expected to take over in July.
