JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A driver in a crash that blocked lanes of Highway 50 on Wednesday was taken to a hospital after complaining of chest pain.

The crash happened a little before 1 p.m. when a Toyota Rav4 driving the wrong way and a Chevrolet Silverado collided head-on on the Highway 179 exit ramp from Highway 50, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.

Police say the Rav4 driver, Jeannine Farmer, 72, of Jefferson City, was driving the wrong way on the ramp as the Silverado was getting onto the ramp. Farmer reported chest pain and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, police said.

The Silverado driver was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said.

Police said the crash closed the driving lane and exit lane of Highway 50 for about 40 minutes.
