JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police said they suspect alcohol as a factor after a crash involving three parked vehicles Monday.

Jefferson City police said Curtis Murrell, 32, suffered moderate injuries when his car crashed into a parked car in the 1200 block of East Capital Avenue at about 9:20 p.m. Monday.

The car that Murrell crashed into then hit an SUV parked in a driveway, police said. Murrell then hit a parked pickup truck, police said.

Murrell suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a Columbia hospital by ambulance, police said.

Police diverted traffic for about an hour after the crash.

It wasn't clear Tuesday whether Murrell had been charged. A search of online court records did not show any charges filed against him in connection with the incident.
