JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City woman pulled from a burning home Monday night has died.

Officials have not identified the woman, who was found unconscious in a bedroom of a home on Dunford Street. The Jefferson City Fire Department said Tuesday that the woman was in critical condition at a hospital.

Division Chief Jerry Blomberg said in an email Friday that the woman had died.

"The Department would like to express its sympathies and condolences to the victim's family," Blomberg wrote.

The woman is not being named pending notification of her family, Blomberg said.

The fire appears to have started in the living room, on or near a piece of furniture, the department said Tuesday. At that time the department said it was still investigating the cause with the help of local police and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
