JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Capitol Plaza Hotel was evacuated on Friday after the Jefferson City Fire Department was called to the building.

Four JCFD vehicles and an ambulance responded to the hotel at 415 W. McCarty St. around 4 p.m. Firefighters said no one was hurt and there was no smoke or fire reported at the scene.

Firefighters say the smell was coming from an overheated ice machine on the third floor of the hotel.

You can watch a previously aired livestream from the hotel in the media player below.

Firefighters checked the second, third and fourth floors for what was causing the smell. Crews originally thought the smell was coming from vending machines.
