Hospital foundation gives $200,000 to Catholic Charities

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital Foundation presented a check for $200,000 to Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri on Friday afternoon.

The money will allow Catholic Charities, which manages social outreach for the Diocese of Jefferson City, to buy the Shikles Center and turn it into a health and social services center.

The organization plans to seek input from the public about the types of services to be offered.

According to a news release, the renovations are expected to start in the spring.
