JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City police arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly ran from a traffic stop on Stadium Boulevard on Thursday.

JCPD spokesman Lt. David Williams said officers pulled a car over for a vehicle license violation around 10:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of W. Stadium Boulevard. Officer alleged one of the passengers, Colton Birdno, ran from the scene.

Williams said officers arrested Birdno on suspicion of resisting arrest in the 2000 block of Honeysuckle Lane after a 35-minute chase. Online court documents show Birdno faces a charge of felony stealing for a separate incident on Dec. 3, 2019.

Police arrested the 18-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger inside the car. Officers said the passenger, Trent Miller, had several outstanding warrants out of Cole and Callaway counties.
