Police block road in front of Jefferson City police station

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police briefly blocked part of Monroe Street in front of the police station after a man approached an ABC 17 News staff member just before 9 p.m.

Our crews say the man was covered in a red substance and went inside the police station.

The vehicle the man was driving was towed from the scene.

This comes just hours after a weapons offense was reported on W. McCarty Street. It's unclear if the two incidents are related.
