COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Randolph County man was hurt Friday afternoon when his truck rolled and spilled its load of gravel.

John Hess, 59, of Higbee, suffered moderate injuries when his semi-truck went off the road, overcorreted and rolled onto its side, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Higbee was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. He was wearing a seat belt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a social media post a little before 2:30 p.m. that the crash involved injuries and happened on Route A, just west of the Howard/Boone County line. The road was blocked at that time while crews cleaned up the gravel and got the truck upright, the patrol said.
