NEW FRANKLIN, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced in a Friday press release that travelers are now able to use the Bonne Femme Creek Bridge on Highway 40 in Howard County, southeast of New Franklin.

After closing earlier this year for a bridge deck replacement project, MoDOT was able to reopen the bridge to all traffic Friday morning.

Work will continue next week as the contractor finishes the final stages, according to the release. During weekdays -- daylight hours from May 29-June 9 -- the roadway will be narrowed to one lane at the bridge and temporary traffic signals will be in place.
