FAYETTE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A bridge that was abruptly closed last month has officially reopened, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation social media post.

"There may be some brief single-lane closures as crews finalize work, so watch for crews/signs and give them plenty of room," the tweet stated.

The bridge that was under construction was the Salt Creek bridge on Highway 240 in Howard County.

MoDOT crews were doing routine maintenance on the bridge when they noticed irregularities, according to the spokesman. Crews then alerted inspectors.

The tweet stated that the construction was completed ahead of schedule. MoDOT said on Nov. 2 that the bridge was expected to be closed up to five weeks.
