Jefferson City free gas giveaway event on Saturday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Evangelism Department of the Missouri Western Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction has partnered with the Jefferson City Church of God in Christ to host a gas giveaway to give out $1,250 worth of free gas.

The event is set to take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the JC Mart located at 105 W. Dunklin Street in Jefferson City.

There is no criteria citizens are required to meet, with the gas being given away on a first come, first serve basis.

Organizers said the church has a mandate not only to spread the gospel, but also to help those in need.

The Jefferson City Church of God in Christ will assist with the event and provide any additional staffing.

Organizers expect traffic delays at Saturday's event and are working with the Jefferson City Police Department to help alleviate any traffic issues.
