COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hy-Vee, Inc. announced in a Tuesday press release that newly approved COVID-19 and flu vaccines are now available at its pharmacies.

The U.S Food and Drug Administration approved and granted emergency use authorization for the updated booster vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer on Aug. 22. The vaccines will target the Omicron variant KP2, according to previous reporting.

Hy-Vee’s release says the updated vaccines are available to those 12 years old and older.

The grocery store chain has several locations in Missouri, including three in Columbia and one in Jefferson City. Appointments can be made online.

According to the release, those who plan on making an appoint to receive the new vaccine should bring:

  • Insurance card (if they have insurance)
  • Medicare Part B red, white and blue card (if Medicare recipient)
