RSV vaccine offered at Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services

The RSV vaccine is being offered for adults 60 years old and older at the Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, according to a press release from the PHHS.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends adults 60 years old  and older to receive a dose of RSV vaccine (Abrysvo), according to the release.

The CDC also recommends a dose of RSV vaccine for women who are 32-36 weeks pregnant to prevent RSV in babies younger than 6 months old, according to the CDC website and the release..

The CDC recommends the be administered September-January, and it can be given as the same time as other vaccines, according to the release.

The release states that the PHHS does not have Nirsevimab – an antibody -- recommended for children ages 19 months old and younger.
