Hallsville boys basketball coach put on leave amid investigation

HALLSVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hallsville boys basketball head coach Brandon Crites has been put on administrative leave, according to an email from a school district spokesperson.

District spokesperson Kari Yeagy wrote in a Tuesday email to ABC 17 News that Crites was placed on leave “pending an ongoing investigation conducted by an external agency.”

Crites was placed on leave on Monday, Dec. 2, Yeagy wrote.

“We are fully cooperating with the authorities as they carry out their investigation,” Yeagy wrote. “While we understand there may be questions, we are committed to respecting the investigative process and safeguarding the privacy of all involved. To ensure the investigation's integrity, we'll not comment further at this time."

Yeagy clarified that Crites does not teach in the district.

ABC 17 News has reached out to Crites for comment.
