Officials with the Fulton Fire Department responded to a structure fire just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

When authorities arrived at the home in the 300 block of E. 10th Street, they reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the structure.

In a news release, the Fulton fire chief said no one was hurt in the fire. Crews managed to rescue a cat from the building and performed life-saving measures on the animal.

Officials said it took longer than normal to extinguish the fire due to many personal items and debris in the home.

The fire department said the fire was accidental in nature, but could not confirm an exact cause.

Callaway County Ambulance District, Fulton Police Department and Central Callaway Fire Protection District also responded to the fire.
