House on fire in Jefferson City Friday morning unoccupied

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City fire officials received reports at 12:51 a.m. Friday of smoke coming from a house in the 1800 block of West Main Street, according to an email from the Jefferson City Fire Department.

The house was unoccupied and no injuries were reported. Smoke was coming from the basement and firefighters brought the fire under control within 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Jefferson City Fire Department.
