Man flown to hospital after Warrensburg fire

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was flown to an area hospital after a house fire Sunday night in Warrensburg.

The fire was reported at 11:03 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of NE 400 Road, according to a press release from the Johnson County Fire Protection District.

Firefighters said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived, with one man trapped inside. The man was able to get out. Three Johnson County Fire Protection District crews were sent to the scene and took about an hour to get the fire under control.

One firefighter received medical treatment at the scene but was not taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal, with the Johnson County Fire Investigation Unit assisting.

The department did not release the man's name or current condition.
